Frequently asked questions: our responses
In cases where, according to generally recognised professional standards, seeing a doctor in person is not required, LKH policyholders who are insured under comprehensive private health insurance, supplementary benefits insurance, or corporate health insurance may seek remote medical treatment. Prescriptions for medication and therapeutic and medical aids may also be issued as part of this remote treatment. Doctors may also issue fit notes as part of remote treatment.
In emergencies where immediate assistance or rescue is required, please dial the emergency number 112.
For other symptoms where an emergency doctor or ambulance is not required, but where the aim is to see a doctor or obtain medical advice as soon as possible, please contact your usual doctor or a doctor from the video consultation service.
Complaints that require physical examination, listening to the heart or lungs, or further investigations are also not suitable for treatment via video consultation or the health hotline. In such cases, advice may be provided or assistance given in finding a specialist.
For those insured under corporate health insurance who are also members of a statutory health insurance fund, the following is important: where the legal requirements for a so-called statutory prescription or e-prescription are met, the doctor will take this into account. The pharmacy or medical supply provider will then bill your health insurance fund directly. You may be required to make additional statutory payments. Otherwise, you may request a private prescription. In this case, you will have to bear the costs yourself. The doctor will advise you accordingly.
At MD Medicus medical advice is provided exclusively by qualified doctors with several years of professional experience. More than 80 doctors employed by MD Medicus, as well as over 200 additional doctors and specialists from the medical network, form the basis of this service.
